The New Budapest Orpheum Society is hailed for its interpretations of Jewish Cabaret music and political songs from the turn of the 20th century to the present. Their newest CD, As Dreams Fall Apart: The Golden Age of Jewish Film Music, 1925-1955 explores the first 30 years of film which were critically influenced by the traditions of Jewish Cabaret and provided the musical mise-en-scène of Jewish history during the critical moments of exile, Holocaust, and revival.
Presented by the Logan Center, Cedille Records, and the Department of Music.
